My artwork is a method of navigating and exploring the emotion and meaning that we, as humans, experience every day. Drawing and painting became an outlet for everything that was going on in my head at a relatively young age. As a major daydreamer, the ideas that come to me are a collage of thoughts: past experiences, future possibilities, random observations, and pure fiction inspired by sources ranging from a road trip through Virginia that brought me to consider the lives of trees, to the song that made me feel the tragedy and rebirth of having your world destroyed. Anything that gives me a new connection or takes me beyond the mundane fascinates me.

Capturing and illustrating some small part of the magical, the inexplicable, and the wonder that surrounds us is my way of communicating with the world. Through images, I compel the viewer to ponder a deeper meaning, see a new and unexpected perspective, or simply connect to their own emotions.

Raised in Raleigh, NC, I first began focused art education at Sunflower Studio in middle school and remained a student throughout high school before branching out on my own. Studying independently and working with established artists as well as art supply retailers has fostered my education and my love of the arts community.
